Each part of TomRide ATVs are designed specifically for children when taking into consideration the weight and the size of young riders.
In order to provide the young rider with the highest safety standards, there are some excellent safety features.
Parents 3 Speed Key – this is pretty standard amongst all kids ATVs, so it is no surprise TomRide has them. The speed key allows you to limit the speed of the ATV. Tom Rides has 3 settings. This allows you to keep your kid riding at a speed that matches their ability, but also slows the process of wear on the engine and keeps the ATV in good condition.
Braking Feature – a hydraulic sensor for the breaks which cuts out the motor when you apply the breaks. This can save your child’s life, but decrease wear and tear on the breaks
Electronic Gear – a common mistake with kids riding ATVs is gear crunching – more specifically, whilst moving forward, changing to reverse by mistake. This isn’t good for the ATV, nor for the rider. Tom Ride has their electronic gear only accessible when the ATV comes to a complete stop, so no chance of this happening at all!
Rollover Bar – this is to prevent the ATV rolling onto the rider in a crash. Needless to say, this is important for kids. It also acts as a backrest for parents if they want to jump on the ride too, for tutoring.
Wheelie Bar – a bar that stretches across the undercarriage at the back of the ATV. This has two purposes. The first is essentially to stop kids from rolling backwards when attempting to do a wheelie – very useful for balance control when practicing. The second is that it help protect the underbelly of the ATV itself.
Heel Net – TomRide knows ATVs, so they are well aware of the little irritations when riding. Having your foot slip off the foot-peg is a pain. The heel net stops that from happening.
Safety Flag – I love this feature – it’s available to get on standard ATVs, but it’s a nice prebuilt addition – basically it allows parents, spectators and other riders to see the young rider and ATV much easily.
